A pilot program called MyJourney Compass that aims to educate patients about the cancer treatment process was recently launched through the alliance of a doctors' organization, cancer support groups and two hospitals in Rome, Ga. The program, which is being overseen by Georgia Institute of Technology health information specialists, leverages a symptom tracker application installed on Nexus 7 tablet computers given to patients to enable them to easily communicate with their doctors about their conditions and view their health data.
