A federal court jury will begin hearing arguments today in the second round of the patent dispute between Microsoft and Motorola Mobility over the amount Microsoft should pay to license standards-essential wireless and video patents used its Xbox gaming console. A federal judge had ruled earlier that Motorola has sought exorbitant fees for its patents, and now a jury will decide whether Motorola breached a contract over the fee structure and, if so, the extent of the damages owed to Microsoft.
