The number of doctors accepting new Medicare patients increased from about 925,000 in 2007 to 1.25 million in 2011, an HHS report found. While more doctors are opting out annually, even more new doctors are coming in, officials said. However, doctors are alarmed by a potential 30% reimbursement cut for Medicare under the sustained growth rate system, Medicare Rights Center president Joe Baker said.
