Al Jazeera America, which is slated to launch Aug. 20, hopes to overcome any lingering suspicions among U.S. audiences about the ideology of its parent Al Jazeera by investing heavily in regional bureaus and familiar faces, including David Shuster from MSNBC and Ali Velshi and Soledad O'Brien from CNN. "Do we have competitors or those who want to attack us from different angles? Of course. [But] it is an American channel for the American audience," said interim chief Ehab Al Shihabi.
