Exercise can improve sleep for people with insomnia, but it isn't a quick fix, according to a Northwestern University study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. Digging deeper into a previous study that found a 16-week exercise program helped to reduce insomnia, researchers found there was no immediate sleep benefit on nights following a workout, and women who had a poor night's sleep were less likely to exercise the next day.
