Wal-Mart hosted a two-day U.S. Manufacturing Summit this past week to promote the purchase of U.S. goods as it seeks to expand on its pledge to buy $50 billion more U.S.-made goods over the next 10 years. "We think we can map out opportunities and put some systems in place and commit to this for the long term. There's nothing less than the future of our country at stake here," said Bill Simon, head of the Wal-Mart's U.S. division.
