New community-college presidents should lead with humility and not take themselves too seriously, writes Rob Jenkins, author and English professor at Georgia Perimeter College. In this commentary, Jenkins reminds new presidents that faculty and staff should be respected and included in leadership decisions. "Most of them were there before you arrived, and most of them will be there long after you're gone. They have just as big a stake as you do, if not bigger, in the success of the institution," Jenkins writes.
