The American College of Radiology has launched a national campaign to help streamline patient care and highlight the clinical relevance of radiologists. The ACR's Imaging 3.0 initiative features a clinical decision support system to help referring physicians determine the most appropriate diagnostic study, with consultation with a radiologist as needed. "We want to use the tools that are available to make preemptive strikes -- to use the data collected to help radiologists intervene at the point of care, when necessary, to make sure ... that patients get what they need," said radiologist Dr. Bibb Allen, vice chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors.
