Campaign firm Revolution Messaging has petitioned the Federal Election Commission for permission to skip the usual disclosures in political ads on mobile devices "because the disclaimer would end up larger than the ad itself," according to Keegan Goudiss, the firm's head of digital advertising. The firm is asking for the same exemption to disclosures granted for bumper stickers and buttons, for example. "These mobile advertisements are 'small' under any reasonable definition of 'small,' " the firm wrote in its filing.
