Chevron hopes to build its presence in Canada via the development of the Duvernay shale natural gas formation and the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas plant on the country's West Coast. "It's an exciting time within Chevron Canada," said Jeffrey Lehrmann, president of Chevron's Canadian unit. There are also plans to boost the company's workers in Calgary, Alberta, from 500 at present to 800 over the next few years.
