Only three of 10 diabetes supplements examined contained the correct FDA disclaimer, while only half suggested that patients consult a physician and only three featured the manufacturer's name, a study in BMC Public Health indicated. The study also found that a total of 71 ingredients were used in the products, 42 of which were found in a single product and 19 of which were seen in two supplements. Researchers said supplements with misleading information and questionable effectiveness could interfere with the proper management of diabetes.
