Google produced a crisis map of Colorado flooding to help residents navigate safely and learn whether their destinations were part of the flood zone. The map automatically zooms into the hardest-hit areas so users can see which roads are underwater. The map also provides alerts and webcam images. "A lot of problems during disasters are typically information problems. People are increasingly turning to the Internet during this time," Google Crisis Response product manager Nigel Snoad said. Esri also provided images of the affected areas, which also showed where shelters were located.
