The video game Minecraft, which allows users to build structures in a virtual environment, is being used as a teaching tool in schools worldwide. At a school in Stockholm, Minecraft is required for 13-year-old students, helping them learn about city planning, the environment and other topics. A history teacher in Australia also used the game to let students go on "quest missions" and explore ancient worlds, while an English-language teacher in Denmark used the game to help students practice their oral and written communication skills.
