Fourth-grade students are learning to draw and write their observations about nature and wildlife in journals, just as scientists have done for centuries, as part of a series of daylong field trips hosted by the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center in Escanaba, Mich. "What we're doing is taking whatever the teacher is already doing...and we can use the arts activities to reinforce whatever the curriculum is. In this case, it's scientific observation for fourth grade standards," said Pasqua Warstler, gallery and education director.
