Schools in a Michigan school district say they are taking proactive approaches to protecting students with food allergies. At one school, peanuts have been banned from cafeterias, classrooms and school kitchens, while another school has established a peanut-free table in the cafeteria. While officials recognize that such policies can be inconvenient for students without allergies, for others it can be a matter of life and death.
