Samsung Electronics put its 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 smartphone on sale in South Korea on Wednesday as a prelude to the hybrid phone-tablet device's global release in October. With more vendors offering the larger displays, analysts predicted that the so-called "phablets" will enjoy a solid, niche audience limited by their size and relatively high price. "We're certainly seeing a shift for large-screen phones, but the vast majority of volumes are sub-5-inch -- over 90%," Canalys analyst Rachel Lashford said.
