Women who used corticosteroid gels or creams while pregnant were no more likely to experience premature birth, fetal death or have babies with cleft lips or palates than those who did not use the treatments, a Taiwanese study found. However, the study published in the journal JAMA Dermatology showed that using potent types of steroid creams was associated with increased chances of low birth weight.
