Procter & Gamble is planning to re-enter its Tide brand in the "mid tier" of detergents early next year with a lower-priced liquid version called Tide Simply Clean and Fresh. P&G previously tested a lower-priced Tide product but canceled it after one year due to fears it was eating into sales of regular-priced Tide and creating unsatisfied customers. The company also plans to launch several new products in February, including the "Tide Plus" collection, which upgrades all liquid Tide detergents.
