SnapEDA is offering a free library of computer-aided design components and pulling together a community of chip designers, putting them in touch with electronics manufacturers in need of their IC design expertise, Darrell Etherington writes. In addition to making CAD files available, SnapEDA touts its growing community of IC designers. "A lot of the startups don't know where to find designers," founder Natasha Baker said. "Or they have designers, but they don't know where to find the layout engineers [those who actually plot out the circuit board layout]. So our goal is to connect people," she added.
