A 15-year U.K. study involving 7,000 men aged 66 to 97 found that those who were current smokers were 50% more likely to die than men who never smoked. Smokers had higher chances of developing cancer, vascular disease and respiratory disease. The findings were presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress.
