A new study suggests some students with high IQs may have a longer period of time -- well into adolescence -- when their brains are most receptive to learning. For these students, learning new languages or musical instruments may come as quickly as it would for younger children, researchers suggest. Researchers say the extended learning time could be triggered by the same genes that lead to higher IQ or could be because of the tendency of students with higher IQs to pursue challenging activities that keep their brains receptive to learning.
