Patent reform legislation currently in debate should include a demand for greater transparency "and a cheaper, faster, administrative way to invalidate bad patents," says Jon Potter, president of the Application Developers Alliance. Potter is among those urging House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., and other members of Congress to incorporate the ability to challenge overly broad software patents, a privilege currently only afforded the financial services sector.
