According to a document filed with the United Nations, officials from Australia, Canada and the U.S. say UN member nations should think about using machines to better detect hazardous liquids. The move would gradually ease restrictions on liquids, aerosols and gels. The countries propose a first phase to start on Jan. 31, 2014, with latter phases eliminating the need for 3.4-ounce containers or sealed 1-liter bags.
