The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health are developing a registry to help researchers learn more about the causes of sudden unexpected cardiac death in infants, children and young adults. The Sudden Death in the Young Registry will serve as a comprehensive resource for specialists to help them come up with better approaches to diagnose and prevent these types of deaths. The project will receive financial support from the CDC and the NIH's National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
