The remake of Stephen King’s "Carrie" shows a shift in the way women are portrayed in horror films, writes Angela Watercutter. Rather than being consumed by the power she discovers as it was in the original 1974 novel and Brain De Palma’s film adaption, the updated Carrie White works to harness her power and undertakes a journey of self-awareness.
