The consumer advocacy group Public Citizen is taking issue with the planned participation of Dr. Lynn Drake, chairwoman of the FDA's Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drugs Advisory Committee, in a February conference meant to offer guidance for drugmakers' presentations to the agency's advisory panels. Drake's scheduled appearance "raises concerns that the advisory committee member is approaching the work of the committee from a pro-industry perspective," the group wrote in a letter to FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret Hamburg.
