Intel has announced the open-source Galileo computer, priced at about $60 and based on its low-power Quark X1000 processor, for electronics enthusiasts interested in a board-level computer. Arduino will provide a software-development environment for Galileo, which also will support Linux. Separately, Arduino has announced the Arduino TRE board, which uses the ARM-based Sitara AM335x processor from Texas Instruments.
