School superintendents more likely were to have high ratings for their own school boards in a recent Gallup/Education Week Internet poll of 1,169 school chiefs, but only 2% of them "strongly agree" that school boards across the country are governed well. "School boards are reviewing superintendents, everyone is reviewing teachers, but no one is really reviewing boards, or having conversations about the need to have really competent governing boards," said Brandon Busteed, Gallup's education division executive director.
