US consumers order 1.7 billion meals online annually, according to NPD Group, and restaurant chains are increasingly exploring delivery options to offset slower dine-in traffic. Chains including McDonald's, Wendy's and Panera Bread have launched delivery options, and casual dining concepts including Cheesecake Factory and Chili's have partnered with services such as Grubhub and DoorDash.
