Technological advances have made it possible for wind energy to offer the basic electric reliability services that support a strong and stable grid, said American Wind Energy Association CEO Tom Kiernan on Tuesday in House Energy and Commerce Committee testimony. "We support the objective of maintaining a reliable and resilient grid, which is best achieved through free and open markets, with a focus on needed reliability services -- not sources -- and a program to promote transmission infrastructure," he said.
